Adobe VoCo is like Photoshop for your voice

Adobe has revealed an impressive new piece of software that allows users to edit & manipulate voice recordings, with surprisingly realistic results.

Watch the video below from Adobe MAX 2016 to see it in action. The software takes a recording of a person’s voice and lets you copy, paste & rearrange their words just like you would in a text editor. You can also type in completely new words and listen to the person ‘say’ them. Adobe says that VoCo will be useful for making small edits to things like podcasts and audio books, although they do acknowledge the potential ethical problems it could cause and say they have taken steps to detect edited recordings.
